The team

I want to understand why some bacteria and genes succeed in new microbial communities while others disappear. To find out, I combine microbial ecology experiments with bioinformatics and mathematical models.

I've worked in plant microbiology and clinical diagnostics, and I also have experience in cell culture and immunology. At GenIE, I look after the lab and help manage our projects.

In my Master’s thesis I search for the bacterial communities that make their environment most hostile to invading microbes. The project is co-supervised by the GenIE lab and the Microbial Systems Biology Lab at IPLA.
